Kathrina Rupit aka KinMx is a visual artist living between Dublin, Ireland and Tulum, Mexico. Born in the north of Mexico, Kathrina graduated from the University of Visual Arts in Nuevo Leon.
Kathrina began painting murals in the early part of her life. After university, she ventured to travel outside of Mexico on her own, surviving by selling her art on the streets and eventually landing in Ireland, settling in Dublin, she has since become a prominent figure in Ireland’s street art scene.
She's one of the founders of the Minaw Collective; an all-female street art collective, the first of its kind in the country.
As an artist, KinMx’s motivations are focused on environmental conservation and sustainability.
She has collaborated with Greenpeace International, Amnesty International, United Nations and Street Art For Mankind. KinMx’s work has been exhibited in both group & solo exhibitions throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.
Kathrina is currently building an art and research centre in Tulum. It will focus on the exchange of sustainable practices and knowledge from indigenous and native communities to future generations of artists and makers.
I'm very passionate artist, I love the journey of learning, exploring and keep moving forward from project to project, collaborating with galleries, cultural groups, charity organizations, festivals and other artists.
My artwork is about finding peace, awareness & joy, this combined with elements of nature.
Empowerment is my drive, the revolution doesn't start outside, but inside each one of us.
'Kathrina's work is vibrant, stunning and she has managed to translate her street art to canvas in an impressive way, it is the intention of The Connor Contemporary to feature more of Kathrina in the future as it is beautiful art and her work and her in environmental activism and female empowerment is inspiring and relevant.'
